ILHAN ZEYBEKOGLU

Ilhan Zeybekoglu, founding principal of ZNA/Zeybekoglu Nayman Associates, Inc., established his Boston office in 1974, and opened ZNA in Beijing in 2007 with Xu Wang. A member of the American Institute of Architects and the Boston Society of Architects, he has over forty years of US and international experience in architectural design and urban planning. Zeybekoglu has been a member of the design faculties at Harvard, Columbia, and Rice Universities.

Zeybekoglu has earned many awards in international design competitions and has completed significant projects in architecture and urban design, including the Masterplan for the American University in Cairo, Sarajevo University in Bosnia, King Khalid University in Abha, SA, Shams Central Park and Cultural Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In China, his work includes Haitang Bay Seven Star Mangrove Tree Hotel in Sanya, Hotel/Resort Complex in Qingdao, Haxi New District Office Building in Harbin.

His work evidences an abiding concern for the physical site characteristics and cultural context of each project. Construction, technology, budget, and client rapport are reflected in both architectural aesthetics and planning techniques. Solutions are tailored to client concerns, to achieve the highest possible resolution of needs, wants, and aesthetic vision.
