Qionghai Bo’Ao Dongyu Island Resort Master Planning

Location: Hainan, China

Planning Area: 48.0 ha

Client: China COSCO Shipping Group

East Islet Island is situated in Boao Town, Qionghai City, serving as the enduring venue for the Boao Forum for Asia. The project's strategy centers on leveraging the intrinsic advantages of East Islet Island, meticulously refining hotel facilities, elevating operational standards, and upgrading the brand image to attract a demographic characterized by high frequency, strong engagement, and substantial spending in the tourism sector. Additional features have been incorporated to enhance the appeal, catering to nighttime, water-based activities, and family-centric experiences to attract a wider audience. By capitalizing on the island's unparalleled natural environment and cultural activities, the project aims to anchor family tourists. Moreover, by tapping into the scarcity of Hainan's traditional houses as tangible cultural heritage, the project seeks to draw in families and high-end clientele, thereby elevating the cultural image of the hotel brand and creating a comprehensive vacation sanctuary.

At the core of this planning is the customization of exclusive products with explosive appeal, and the design encompasses a series of "hidden" scenes: the Starry Night Lake Circuit and the Island Night Cruise to enhance nighttime utilization. By integrating the lush surrounding forests and refurbishing existing structures, the plan thoroughly explores and integrates Hainan's and Qionghai's culture, history, folklore, and other resources, recreating the ambiance of a folklore village in an undisclosed setting. Exclusive retreats tailored for high-end clientele are designed to provide seclusion, facilitate meditation, and offer opportunities for adventurous exploration.
