Location: Beijing, China
Site Area: 8.3 ha
Landscape Area: 69,000 sqm
Client: COFCO
Located within the core area of Beijing's Fangshan Zhongliang Ecological Valley, adjacent to Zhongliang Smart Farm, this project plays a pivotal role in supporting the top-tier rural complex function positioning of the "Ecological Valley" initiative. Its primary objective is to provide essential health service support for Zhongliang Ecological Valley, in conjunction with the surrounding health service group, leisure farm group, technology innovation group, and others.
Despite budgetary constraints, our main challenge was to address the issue of insufficient soil for planting trees while simultaneously creating a comfortable and inviting office park.In the end, we embraced a design strategy centered on "Simplicity," "Greenery," and "Brightness" to cultivate a continuous, sequential, and efficient business garden within both the office and leisure spaces.
"Simplicity":
Implementing simplicity in the landscape design to complement intricate architectural spaces.
Utilizing straightforward hard pavement solutions to harmonize with complex building facades.
"Greenery":
Creating a tranquil environment for office workers through abundant greenery, allowing them to experience the beauty of changing seasons.
Maximizing green spaces within available areas while prioritizing activity zones.
Selecting tall trees with dense canopies for the central axis and employing layered planting techniques to ensure a lush ground cover.
"Brightness":
Counteracting building shadows by incorporating colorful and vibrant structures to enhance spatial brightness.
Infusing the landscape space with transparency and brightness, maintaining open visual axes and preserving all transparent views of the building.
